Mine is almost as minimal and functional as possible. Since I don't have a car while I'm in France I currently only have my apartment key and building key, but I also keep the little strap on there so I can easily fish them out of a pocket and add a little dash of personal style. The only difference when I'm in the US is the addition of my car key and fob.

Kinja'd!!!

When I first started driving I had a two sets of car keys, a house key, a keychain, and a lucky rabbit's foot. About a month later I spent a week shadowing my family doctor and he said "are those your keys in your pocket or are you just happy to see me? That bundle of crap is ridiculous."

After that, I went as small and light as I could manage.

I'm a minimalist too, but I have added a bottle opener for those emergency situations when a beer needs to be opened. Other than that its just a ring with a couple of keys.

I first put the bottle opener on there when after a day of paintball my friends and I discovered that we didn't have one and had to use car doors and the edge of a picnic table to open bottles. Way too much beer was turned to foam that day.

Same here. I have the Keys to my place and my parents' place in a single ring with nothing else attached to it, and my car key and alarm remote (remember when those came separately as a set?) attached to a Pearl Jam keyring that's about as the car itself.

That's why I learned to open them on wedges, tables and other similarly angled surfaces :p

But I had one of those as well back in high school. I couldn't legally drink back then, but I thought it made me look cool. Also, I bought booze ilegally anyways.

Ugh my girlfriend has like three key rings all chained together, one house key, one car key, a key fob, two massive strappy things, a lanyard, a set of sorority letters, and some random metal bauble on hers. If you unbuckle the long part of the lanyard it still hangs down like six inches from the ignition. I cannot stand it when I drive her car—have to take the car key off the ring.

Yup I have them from being a member and working as a sailing instructor too. It was cool, cause most of the instructors were HS students who had been taught to sail at the Club. I kept it all in home and with people who cared about the club and we all knew each other.

I have sailed many boats. We taught kids how to sail in Sabots. In HS and college we competed in CFJs. Though in keel boats I sailed a lot on Catalina 37s (all the ones ever made are at my Club for race called Congressional Cup), Cal 25s (I sailed with a team for Wet Wednesdays, or what a lot of people call beer can racing), but my favorite sailboat is named Arana, 52ft Dencho. Though I did get to race a custom 71' racer, that was exhilarating.

what about you?

Ha I'm certainly not as well traveled as you, there's some impressive stuff on that list! I've mostly done dinghy sailing; the obligatory Sunfish, a buddy's Hobie 16. My family owns a CL16 right now, which is a Canadian boat that was originally made as a fiber glass version of the old Wayfarer design back when they only made those out of wood. I've done a little bit on C scows which are really popular at my popular at my club, as well as Lightnings. For college sailing we used club 420s and FJs, although sometimes we did individual practice on Picos which was surprisingly fun.

As far as keelboats go I have most of my experience doing "beer can racing" as bowman on a Beneteau First 310, but I've done some pleasure sailing on other stuff around that size. Mostly Catalinas and the like.

What area are you in? Do you mostly do ocean sailing or inland stuff?

I think I have you beat.. I heart boobies lanyard- attaches to 2 rings, one with 2 keys for my pickup, the other has a piloti key tag, a mcdonalds free big mac card thing, a mini king soopers card, and 3 more rings on it - one of those rings has my Z key, and fob, another one of those rings has my house key and 2 keys for ..a vehicle that isn't even at my house anymore, and the final ring has...my Beetle ignition key and my Beetle engine compartment key EDIT- just pulled off one of the key rings along with the 2 keys I have no use for anymore..and another key chain tag thing that I had forgotten to mention before.

I was doing all of this sailing out of Long Beach, California. It was a good mix of Ocean, Island, and harbor racing. Sounds like you have had a lot of fun too!

I was usually in the pit trimming the sails, thought I have done bow a few times and that shit is crazy. fun, but crazy. I never likes 420s as much as FJs, but they were fun. I'm supprised you raced a Beneteau. Those things are generally fat cruisers. Its nice to hear its used for regattas.
